It’s always sad to see actors and actresses leave Days of our Lives, especially when they’ve been with the show for so long. However, sometimes they’re simply ready to start a new chapter in their careers.
Some of the biggest recent departures from DOOL include Marci Miller (Abigail DiMera) and Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady). Miller’s return to the role was short-lived as she was quickly replaced by her replacement, Kate Mansi, who has helmed the role since.
Despite the fact that she’s been on the soap for more than 50 years, Banus recently announced that she was stepping away from the show. In an interview with The Wrap, the Daytime Emmy winner said that she felt it was time for her to begin a new chapter.
She’ll be missed by fans and her co-stars, who were left in shock after her departure was revealed. It’s unclear what her plans are for the future, but she’ll surely be missed by many.
Another big DOOL alum who’s leaving is Roark Chitlow, who played Mike Horton for a little over two episodes. He’s reportedly going to pursue other acting opportunities, which will likely include guest spots on shows like Law & Order: SVU and Blindspot. He also has a few Hallmark Channel holiday movies in his filmography.
