Flea dips have been used for a long time to kill fleas and prevent future infestations. Some of the most common ones are pyrethrins, which kill fleas and their eggs by getting into their nervous system.
They can be used at home on your dog or cat. Make sure that your pet is healthy before dipping them, because the chemicals in these products can have serious side effects and reactions.
Step 1: Prepare a bowl of warm water and a solution that you can dip your pet in. You might also want to add a little apple cider vinegar to the mix, which helps to kill fleas, remove allergens and fungal producing yeast from your dog’s skin, and help to deodorize them.
You can either use a sponge or a plastic bottle to apply the product, and then wash your pet off with clean water. If you decide to dip your pet, make sure you have a safe, thin harness or collar that you can use to hold them in place during the bath so they don’t become too anxious.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to using any pesticide on your animal is to follow the label instructions exactly and not to overdose. If your cat or dog does, they might develop symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, muscle tremors, seizures, weakness, falling over, drooling or even death. It is not recommended to use these pesticides on cats or dogs that have health issues or are extremely skinny.
