If the weather isn't cooperating during your Northern Michigan vacation, don't worry. Traverse City has plenty of options for you and your family to have a good time no matter the weather. Here are our top five things to do in traverse city on a rainy day:
1. Watch a movie at The State Theatre (right downtown)
This is a fun, family-friendly option that's sure to keep your little ones happy. The theatre has a great selection of movies, including classics and new releases.
A Traverse City staple, Taproot is known for its unique apple and pear ciders as well as their delicious farm-to-table food. You can find a variety of ciders, along with their own take on traditional favorites like the Root Salad and Loaded Mac N Cheese.
One of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon is by taking a sail on a schooner in Traverse City. During summer sailing season, families can jump aboard these replica 1800s-era coasting cargo schooners for a fun-filled cruise on Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay.
4. Play at Incredible Mo's or Lucky Jack's Bowling Center
A trip to TC wouldn't be complete without an adventure at one of these two fun, family-friendly bowling centers. Both locations feature a range of bowling lanes, laser tag, arcades, and even an Egyptian escape room to keep your little ones entertained.
This cutesy shop, located across from Clinch Park, has a great selection of local art and handmade home goods. The shop is run by a family who loves to promote local artists and makers.
