Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon - This is one of the most important buildings in Charleston's history and has overseen many of its major events. Visitors will learn about the building's role as a customs house, a military prison during the American Revolution and a public auction house for enslaved people.
South Carolina Aquarium - This is an amazing aquarium with exhibits that explore the many habitats of the Lowcountry. It's a great family-friendly activity and the kids will love touching the fish, otters, crabs and other animals.
Historic Home Tours - If you're looking for something to do in Charleston on a rainy day that'll keep you dry, consider going on a tour of a historic home. There are a few to choose from, but the Edmondston-Alston House is an especially beautiful one.
Local Breweries - While you're in the area, make sure to visit some of Charleston's micro-breweries. There are a few that are popular in the city, including Revelry and Westbrook.
