When it rains in Cape May, it can be a bummer. But there are plenty of fun activities to enjoy when the weather doesn't cooperate.
A great way to spend a rainy day is by taking a walk on the beach. There are many gorgeous beaches to choose from, so you're sure to find a beautiful spot for you and your family to soak up the sun and play in the sand.
You'll also want to check out the beautiful state park at the end of Cape May Point where you can walk along the wooden walkways inland from the water and see some of the local flora and fauna. And if it's sunny out, you can climb the 199 steps to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy the view!
Another great activity for a rainy day is to take the kids to the free zoo. This zoo is very nice, with lots of animals to look at and interactive exhibits.
For a different kind of rainy day activity, consider getting your hands dirty at the historic Cold Spring Village located in the lower township. It's a great place to experience life in the 1800's South Jersey and it's open every weekend from June through September.
You can also visit the fireman's museum in cape may where you can get a glimpse into some history of the town, as well as an antique 1928 American La France fire engine housed inside the museum.
