# How Big Is 100 Feet?

#### June 1, 2023

When talking about distances and sizes, it is often hard to get a sense of how big something really is. However, with some visualization and comparisons, you can easily get a feel for how big 100 feet is.

To help you visualize how big is 100 feet, let’s take a look at some different objects that can be used as reference points. For example, a standard midsized car is around 14.7 feet long. So if you lined up seven of these cars bumper to bumper, they would measure approximately 100 feet long. Another great reference point is an ice hockey rink, which is typically 200 feet long and 85 feet wide.

Alternatively, a typical semi-truck trailer is 50 feet long, so you could line up two of these trucks side by side to get an idea of how far 100 feet is. A third great reference is a standard Olympic swimming pool, which is 50 meters by 25 meters by 2 meters. So if you stacked two of these pools on top of each other, they would be 100 feet tall.

Lastly, a fully grown blue whale can be up to 110 feet long, making them one of the largest animals to ever exist on Earth. Similarly, the extinct Megalodon shark was around 47 to 67 feet long. So if you lined up a couple of these sharks end to end, they would be roughly 100 feet long.
